Set across 50 acres in Blenheim, in the heart of Queensland’s beautiful Lockyer Valley, Windy Hills Farm is a place to slow down, reconnect and experience the simple pleasures of country life.

We are the Knight family - Christine, David and family - and we are proud to be the new custodians of this special property, continuing a story that began long before us.

Windy Hills Farm was originally part of the Pomerenke family’s extensive cattle farm, which once covered much of the surrounding land. Jim’s Road is named after the family patriarch, and members of the Pomerenke family still live and farm nearby today - a wonderful connection to the agricultural history of the area.

In early 2020, Frank and Belinda O’Toole purchased the property and saw something special in what was then largely inaccessible and neglected land. Despite years of erosion, soil washouts and invasive weeds, they could see its potential.

Their vision was to create a beautiful, family-friendly property that embraced the natural landscape, supported native flora and fauna and celebrated the relaxed simplicity of country living.

With plenty of hard work and the support of local farmers, neighbours, land remediation specialists and the Lockyer Valley Regional Council, that vision began to take shape. The land was carefully restored, new dams were created, native trees and shrubs were planted and grasses established for the cattle and the many wallabies and kangaroos that call Windy Hills Farm home.

In 2022, The Cabin was completed, creating a peaceful country escape where guests could experience the beauty and tranquillity of the farm for themselves.

Continuing the legacy

When our family took ownership of Windy Hills Farm, we knew we were becoming part of something that had already been created with great care.

We have enormous respect for the work Frank and Belinda put into restoring and developing the property, and we are proud to continue the legacy they began.

For us, it’s not about starting again. It’s about building on strong foundations – continuing to care for the land, supporting local businesses and trades, and preserving everything that makes Windy Hills Farm such a special place.

There will always be another tree to plant, a fence to mend and, no doubt, some lantana waiting for us somewhere! That’s all part of the journey.

As the next chapter of Windy Hills Farm unfolds, our vision is simple: to create a place where people can escape the everyday, breathe in the fresh country air and enjoy the beauty, peace and space of the Lockyer Valley.
