About us
Windy Hills Farm has always been a place shaped by the people who have cared for it, and today we’re proud to continue that story.
In early 2020, Frank and Belinda took a leap of faith and purchased what would become Windy Hills Farm. At the time, the land was wild and largely inaccessible – scarred by erosion, overgrown with invasive weeds and in desperate need of care. But beneath the challenges, they saw something special: a place with history, natural beauty and incredible potential.
Originally part of the Pomerenke family’s vast cattle farm, the property is surrounded by land that has been worked for generations. Jim’s Road, which leads to Windy Hills Farm, is named after the family patriarch, and many members of the Pomerenke family still live and farm in the area.
With the support of the local community, land remediation specialists and neighbouring farmers, Frank and Belinda set about restoring the property. Through plenty of hard work - and a fair share of trial and error – the land was rejuvenated, new dams were built, native trees were planted and Windy Hills Farm gradually became the peaceful country retreat it is today.
In 2022, The Cabin was built, marking the beginning of a new chapter and allowing visitors to experience this special part of the Lockyer Valley for themselves.
Today, David and Christine are proud to become the next custodians of Windy Hills Farm. They are committed to continuing their legacy, caring for the land and preserving the character and spirit that make Windy Hills Farm so special.
While the custodians may change, the vision remains the same: to create a place where families can slow down, breathe in the fresh country air, reconnect with nature and experience the simple beauty of life in the Lockyer Valley.
For us, this is not about starting again - it’s about continuing a story that has already been lovingly written and adding their own chapter for the years ahead.
Christine and David.
